Belmont Park
Another relaxing day trip you can take from New York City is Belmont Park. It’s still part of the New York state but is located in Long Island. Belmont Park is a horse racing facility renowned worldwide because of the Belmont Stakes, a race of thoroughbread horses which takes place every June. Races at Belmont Park are also held from May until June and from September through November.
West Point
If you haven’t heard about West Point until now, you’d have to learn about it if you want to take a day trip there from New York. West Point is the United States Military Academy located 50 miles north of New York City. The entire central campus of West Point is a historical site bombarded with dozens of historical landmarks. Most of the buildings in West Point have neogothic architecture and were constructed out of black and gray granite. You may need to take a guided bus tour to explore all of West Point conveniently.
